Bio

I am a multidisciplinary artist that has a general mission to create empathy between people threw their connection to earth. I was born in the amazon of Peru in a family built by migration and this marks my art and the choices I have taken in my art practice.

Every medium I use implies for me a different perspective and sensorial experience on the subject.

Threw painting is where I usually take on subjects of the land itself and life cycles in a very realistic manner, details of walks through natural spaces primarily in oil paint.

Threw freestyle embroidery or ceramics done in local amazon clays I take on board topics related to female experiences and nature as female. In video or digital formats, my art plays more into documentary type formats digging into subjects of migration, personal and collective experiences.

Each series I do has a previous investigation that many times takes me threw walks in the amazon rainforest, long documented conversations, or investigating a new material that I feel will enrich my discourse, in my later work the material that I chose is more rooted in family heritage.

My mission has also taken me to create experiences for different people and other artists to experiment with the land that is closest to me, the amazon basin, and in particular the Ucayali region of Perú. These experiences are thrown the cultural association Centro Selva Arte y Ciancia that I created in 2012.  I take the participants to investigate and get to know the different cultures, social and natural aspects of this region. This investigation leads the participants to create art, exhibit, and talk about their process to the general local public.
